Independently published books don’t get marketing support from giant publishing houses with paid promotions everywhere you look. There are a few things that can be very helpful though, to encourage the various algorithms to put this book in front of those who might be interested:
- Review on the book on Amazon and Goodreads. All you need is an account, and for Amazon, have spent $50 with them in the last year. Five stars reviews are great, but even low-star reviews are ridiculously helpful. You can review on either even if you have not bought through Amazon.
- Share a photo of yourself with the book on social media, with helpful links, eg to Amazon, my insta/FB links – or if you don’t have a copy yet – a picture of the book itself – see below
- Pass on my details to any media contacts – see Press release
- Share about the book in any running groups you are in – either in person or with social media
- Follow on Facebook and Instagram
